Capt. Frank Hurley took this photograph in the Menin Road area of Westhoek. It shows Hurley's assistant, Sgt W. Joyce, with photographic equipment over his shoulders, making his way past wreckage on Westhoek Ridge near Zonnebeke.

While Hurley was in the locality, it is unclear who took the Australian signallers photographs described in this article.
