William Dadswell's story

William Dadswell was the eighth of the 12 children born to Robert and Mary (Finch) Dadswell. He was born on 10 December 1811 and baptised at Rotherfield on 15 March 1812.

On 20 February 1835, William married at Withyham, Sussex, Harriett Brown, daughter of Thomas Brown. She was born about 1816. The couple had eight children before William died aged about 40, in 1851. Harriett married a second time, to James Midmore on 4 June 1854 at Rotherfield.

William and Harriett are ancestors of two Dadswell families who migrated to Australia: 1.Arthur James (Jim) Dadswell of Melbourne and 2.Lewis Dadswell of Perth.
