Charles Dadswell's story

Charles Dadswell was the first of eight children of William and Harriett (Brown) Dadswell. Charles was born on 19 October 1835 and was baptised a decade later at Rotherfield, Sussex on 23 Jul 1843.

He married twice. On 14 Dec 1856 he married Frances Midmore who was born about 1837 and the family lived at Withyham and Jarvis Brook. The couple had nine children before Frances died in 1879. On 30 Oct 1880, Charles married Frances Farmer who was about 20 years younger than he, and the couple had eight children who were all baptised at Rotherfield.

Charles died on 23 Feb 1916 when he was aged about 81.

Charles and his first wife Frances Midmore are ancestors of Arthur James (Jim) Dadswell who migrated to Melbourne. Charles and his second wife Frances Farmer are ancestors of Lewis Dadswell who migrated to Perth.
